These are pictures of the school where I work, "Toyama West High School," and some shots of the mountains. I love my new camera!

IntlPhil > Welcome to Nishi Koukou! This is the teachers' and guests' entrance to the school.
IntlPhil > The school celebrated it's 80th anniversary on 4 November, and they put this statue up in the garden in front of the school.
IntlPhil > A closeup of the statue, which does not look like any Japanese person I have ever met. It looks like the artist combined the Greek ideal physique with a Japanese face. The boy is holding three oak leaves (the school symbol) and an olive branch (or so I was told).
IntlPhil > Emily and I came up with the English translation of the kanji to be engraved on the base of the statue.
IntlPhil > The groundskeeping and maintenance men are preparing for winter. EVERYTHING gets covered with bamboo or with string to keep snow from crushing it!
IntlPhil > Three Toyama Nishi third-year girls get ready to "clean" the school.
